The Brewton City Council met on Dec. 9 at the Brewton Municipal Complex.

A regular scheduled meeting, the time was held short due to the small agenda.

After the meeting was called to order, accounts payable for Nov. 2019 were approved.

Furthermore in new business, the approval of a real  property surplus land swap with Trustmark bank was brought to the council.

“It turned out after doing that survey there was a piece land that stuck out into Trustmark bank’s parking lot. So this is swapping this with the property they had on St. Nicholas to adjoins ours,” said Lovelace.

The land swap was approved. Other items approved by the council included the CDBG  Grant Administration Services Agreement and CDBG Grant Engineering services agreement with Southern Engineering Solutions.

Before adjourning, Lovelace encouraged everyone to attend the Christmas parade this Friday night.

The next regular meeting is slated for Dec. 16, at 4:30 p.m.
