George Wayne Roberts age 65 of Thoreau, N. Mex., Son of Evergreen, passed away on December 6, 2019 in Thoreau, N. Mex.  He was born on December, 4, 1954 in Brewton, Ala. He graduated from Evergreen High School in 1973 when he joined the Navy as a Corpsman, receiving the National Defense Service Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.  He later received his Associate of Arts from Jefferson Davis College, Bachelor in Theology from Liberty Bible College, Associate of Science in Nursing from Jefferson Davis College. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Fraternity.  

He is survived by his loving Wife, Traci Cornelius-Roberts of Thoreau, N. Mex.; Sons, Kenneth Roberts and wife Skye of Carefree, Ariz., Patrick Roberts and wife Stacey of Bradenton, Fla., Dominick Vinson-Roberts of Ft. Myers, Fla., Jacob Roberts of Thoreau, N.Mex.; Daughters; Savanna Roberts of Sebring, Fla., Hannah Roberts of Thoreau, N. Mex., Michelle Roberts of Thoreau, N. Mex, Trisha Cornelius-Roberts of Thoreau, N. Mex.; Sisters:  Helen “Becky” Roberts of Thoreau, N. Mex., Leann Roberts Middelton of Evergreen, Ala; Grandchildren: Alyssa, Ronnie, Kent, and Hayley.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dwight Roberts and Virginia “Clark” Roberts; Son, Thomas Qasam.  

A memorial service in his honor was held on Tues., Dec. 17, 2019 at Crossroads Church in Evergreen, Ala with the family receiving friends from 1PM to 2PM prior to the service at 2PM.   

A private burial will be held at Middle Creek Cemetery in Sevierville, Tenn. Thurs., Dec. 19, 2019 at 10AM.
