Mr. James Edward “Ed” Howington, Jr., 59, of Shepard Drive Brewton, Ala. passed away Fri., Dec. 20, 2019,  at his residence after a brief illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County, Ala. Mr. Howington was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. He was a former employee in the Lab at Smurfit-Stone and enjoyed working with the Escambia County Auxiliary Sheriff and Escambia County Rescue Department.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Edward Howington, Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Lucille Hart Howington of Brewton; two daughters, Amanda Howington of Brewton and Patricia Emmons of Brewton; one brother, Daryl Howington of Brewton; three grandchildren, Jantzen Case, Kaleb Emmons, Caylee Emmons

A time of visitation was held Mon., Dec. 23, 2019, from 1PM until 2PM at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton.

Funeral services were scheduled for Mon., Dec. 23, 2019, at 2PM at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Aubrey Wilson officiating.

Interment followed in Zion Hill Cemetery Brewton, Ala. with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton, Ala. directing.
