Working together to make a difference, one local group came together to impact many.

This past season, the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., Gamma Theta Chapter of Brewton participated in spreading and sharing holiday cheer in the community.

“At our December meeting we collected can goods for Drexell and Honeybees restaurant,” said Andrella Nettles.

Drexell and Honeybees is a donation only restaurant that operates to reach the hungry within the community.

“Customers who eat here do not have to pay for their food.  It’s ran off of donations only,” added Nettles. Many will benefit from the chapter’s donations.

On Dec. 16, the chapter spent a day at the Volunteers of America Adult Center.

“We sang Christmas carols, fed them dinner and fixed gift bags for them,” said Nettles. The chapter enjoyed making a difference this holiday season.
