Mrs. Ella Ruth Elliott, 79, of East Brewton (Boykin Community) answered the Master’s call on Mon., Dec. 23, 2019 at a local nursing home.

A native of Brewton, Mrs. Elliott attended school in the Boykin Community. She was a member of Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (Boykin Community) where she had served as a Deaconess, Matron, and an Usher. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, growing flowers, and going to church.

Those left to cherish precious memories of her life are her loving and devoted husband, Eddie Lee Elliott of East Brewton; three daughters, Ester (Dorsey) Stallworth-Williams of Calif., Tangela (Arizona) Gamble of East Brewton, Valerie Williams of Brewton; two sons, Eddie Lee (Shirley) Elliott, Bob (Bernita) Elliott all of Brewton; one sister, Annette Jenkins of Detroit, Mich.; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing was held on Sat., Jan. 4, 2020,  at the church from 12 Noon until 2PM. Funeral services were held Sat., Jan. 4, 2020 @ 2 PM at Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (Boykin Community) with Rev. Thomas Broughton, Pastor and Rev. Danny Benjamin, Eulogist.

Internment followed in the Greater Mt. Calvary Cemetery (Boykin Community), with Turner Funeral Chapel of Atmore, Ala. directing.
