The WSN First Class Pre-K is preparing for another school year. A part of the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education, the program welcomes children 4 years of age who are Ala. residents.

Vocalizing the importance of the program, Gov. Kay Ivey recently stated, ““When students are successful in their first few years of school, they are much more likely to be successful throughout their life.”

For WSN, pre-registration begins Jan. 15 and lasts until March 13.

Enrollees must provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate and proof of residence. A child must be of age on or before 9/1/2020.

Online applications for 2020-2021 school year are available at alprek.asapconnected.com. There is no registration fee for the program and no child will be denied participation based on income, sex, race, color, national origin, or disability.

Acceptance into the program is strictly through random drawing to be held on 3-19 at 9 a.m. at the WSN Elementary lunchroom. The parent/guardian does not have to be present at drawing. Notices will be emailed beginning April 16.
