Commission approves sales

The Escambia County Commission held its regular meeting on Mon. morning, Jan. 13.

During the meeting, the board approved the accounts payable and old minutes, personnel system amendment, and cable television franchise. There was no discussion over these items.

Next, in new business the board considered and approved the sale of River Road property.

Chairman Raymond Wiggins explained, “This is the property that the Sherrif’s department had confiscated a few years back, we have interest in it and we want to advertise it to sale.”

Lastly, the board approved the sale of surplus vehicles.

Wiggins shared, “There are many vehicles accumulated by the sherrif’s department. They are inoperable. We will be approving to sale them.”
