With the March 3rd primary election approaching, Secretary of State John H. Merrill reminds everyone to be aware of voter fraud.

Encouraging every citizen to know his or her role in the process of reporting and preventing voter fraud, Merrill released a statement on Tues.

“In order to protect the integrity of our elections, it is imperative that voters play their part in observing and reporting any irregularities or inconsistencies at the polling place,” said Merrill.

Advising everyone that all reports of alleged violations is completly confidential, Merrill said that members of the legal and elections division will review all information.

“Since I took office on January 19, 2015, one of my primary goals has been keeping Alabama elections free and fair. We have consistently worked to ensure that votes are counted in the way the voter intended, and we have protected our elections from actors looking to influence the outcome,” explained Merrill.
