Lady Warhawks fall to Thomas University JV (NAIA) 4-3

DOTHAN – Coastal Alabama-East opened play Thursday, Feb. 7, with a, 4-3, loss to the Thomas University JV in the opening round of the Dothan Invitational.

Thomas University scored twice in the top of the first inning, but the Lady Warhawks countered with three runs in the bottom of the inning to take a short-lived 3-2 lead. Thomas closed out the scoring in the top of the third inning with a pair of runs to take the win.

Haley Scott and Ashley Serviss led CA-East (3-5) offensively. Serviss had a triple and a pair RBI while Scott doubled.

Brianna Hernandez recorded a stolen base for the Lady Hawks and Zykeria Jones had two stolen bases.

Carly Sarratt worked seven innings in the circle and was charged with the loss. Sarratt allowed four runs on 11 hits and struck out two batters.

The Lady Warhawks scored three runs on eight hits and committed two errors.
