Lady Warhawks soar past Meridian 8-1

DOTHAN – Coastal Alabama-East rode the arm of Jae-Lauren Nipper to an 8-1 win over Meridian Community College Saturday, Feb. 8.

Nipper worked six innings in the circle, allowing only one run on six hits while walking one batter and striking out nine to pick up the win.

CA-East took a 2–0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, adding one run in the second, two runs in the fourth and plated three more runs in the sixth.

Meridian scored its lone run in the top of the sixth.

Chloe Buck led the offense with a pair of triples and two RBI. Nipper contributed with a double and Hannah Dukes had three RBI. Hailey Scott knocked in a run for the Lady Warhawks.

CA-East had eight runs on 11 hits and committed no errors.

Meridian scored one run on eight hits and committed four errors.
