Snead Community College hands Lady Warhawks 9-4 loss

DOTHAN – Snead Community College defeated Coastal Alabama-East a, 9-4, loss Thursday, Feb. 7, in game two of the Dothan Invitational Tournament.

Snead CC took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and never trailed.

The Lady Warhawks cut the deficit to 2-1 after one inning, but Snead CC added another run in the top of the second to go on top 3-1.

Snead CC built a 5-3 lead after four innings and then erupted for four runs in the top of the fifth for a 9-3 advantage.

CA-East scored its final run in the bottom of the sixth.

Sara Koonce, McKenzie Stanridge, and Courtney Baine led Snead at the plate with one double apiece. Hannah Pritchett had a triple along with an RBI. Sheloby Payne drove in one run while Koonce and Stanridge knocked in two runs each.

Hannah Dukes and Ashley Serviss led the Lady Warhawks with a double and RBI each.  Caleigh Cawthon also had an RBI.

Chloe Buck and Zykeria Jones had two stolen bases apiece while Brianna Hernandez swiped one base.

Mycayla Mitchell worked four innings in the circle and picked up the win.

Sydnie High worked 4.1 innings for CA-East and took the loss. Highb allowed eight runs on eight hits, walked two and struck out three. Jae Laurne Niller came on in relief, working 2.2 innings allowing one run on two hits.

Snead CC scored nine runs on 12 hits and committed three errors.

CA-East had four runs on seven hits and committed three errors.
