Hazel Louise Wallace Green was born March 9, 1958 in Evergreen, Ala.,  to the late Dorothy Tolbert Matthews and Nathan Wallace; to this union one child was born.

Hazel was educated in the Brewton City School System and graduated with the Class of 1976. She confessed Christ at an early age and united with Mount Zion A.M.E. Church. She served as a class leader, kitchen helper and on the Steward Board. On Nov. 2, 1984 she wed Robert Green and with this union came Margaret Green and Catherine Green.

She departed this life on Feb. 25, 2020,  at her home with her family around her bed. Precious memories she leaves with her husband, Robert Green; her daughters, Catherine Green, Margaret Green, Kasey Miller and Monica Green.

Sister Hazel Louise Green leaves to celebrate her memories her husband, Robert Green of Brewton; four daughters, Margaret Green, Catherine Green, both of Brewton, Kasey Miller and Monica Green, both of Baldwin County, Ala.; father, Calvin Matthews of Brewton; three brothers, Gary (Loretha) Matthews, Gregory (Gale) Matthews, Marcus Matthews (friend, Patsy), all of Brewton; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; aunts, Judy (Columbus) White of Sacramento, Calif, Effie Logan of Los Angeles, Calif, Louise (Thomas) Miller and Sonia (Ronnie) Grace, both of Brewton; two great aunts, Nettie Nolan of Brewton and Mattie Johnson of Castleberry, Ala.; son, Terence “TJ” Johnson of Brewton; one uncle, Jeffery Tolbert of Pensacola, Fla.; a special friend, Daisy Spencer, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Louise Wallace Green was held Sat., Feb. 28, 2020 at 11 AM at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church where Rev. John L. Lakes is pastor and with Rev.  Danny Benjamin officiating.

Interment immediately followed at Fannie Baptist Church Cemetery in Flomaton, Ala.

Professional care and final arrangements were entrusted to Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors of Evergreen and Brewton, Ala.
