Upon the school closure in March, the W.S. Neal High School Future Farmers of America chapter ran into a plant ordeal.

Every year, the FFA conducts an annual plant sale. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it became clear that the students would not be able to tend to the plants and sell them over the coming months.

In an effort to help the chapter, Brewton Feed & Hay Company, LLC responded to the need. “They come here and do other things for the FFA,” said owner Bonnie Brewton. “Instead of the plants sitting there and dying in the green house we offered this. This way we could sell them and they wouldn’t be out of that effort from them growing them,” said Brewton.

As of last week, the business had sold over 200 plants. All plants cost $2 each and all proceeds do directly to the FFA. FFA Advisor, Josh Coleman is very thankful for the opportunity. Coleman said, “We are so grateful for Brewton Feed and Seed. They helped us out big time!”
