The Bank of Brewton closed the lobbies on April 7.

“Over the last 130 years Bank of Brewton has seen its customers through many difficult times (floods, hurricanes, fires) this year will be no different.  We have activated our Pandemic Plan and are taking measures to ensure your financial needs will continue to be met,” said Jerry M. Kelly, Jr., President/CEO.

“As with all components of life it cannot be business as usual,” he added.

Committed to its customers, the bank is finding ways to bank at a distance.

“Our operations have been adjusted to reflect social distancing, ensure business continuity, and contingency plans have been implemented to reduce impact on services,” shared Kelly.

Bank of Brewton offers many resources for managing financial needs, such as online banking, which includes cost free internal and external transfers. The bank also offers bill pay, 24 hour telephone banking, two ATM locations, two night deposit locations, and drive thru services, which will remain open on the normal schedule.  Kelly advises that if a customer needs access to a safe deposit box, an individual should schedule an appointment.

“We know that these changes may cause services and transactions to be performed in uncustomary ways and that minor delays may be experienced.  We ask that you please be patient with our dedicated staff as they work, they too are experiencing things that fall well beyond their normal scope of procedure,” said Kelly.

After 130 plus years of banking, the bank is prepared to see its customers through this unprecedented time.

“Trials and tribulations bring us fear and doubt however they also remind us of our strength and resilience. Bank of Brewton has 130 plus years of being strong and resilient, we are here for you in these uncertain times. Don’t fear, we are in this together and when COVID-19 becomes a thing of our pasts we will take what we learned and become stronger than ever.  That is the tradition of us as a bank, us as a State, and us as a Country,” shared Kelly. “Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.”
