Simply Doughnuts is back and serving the community. Following a temporary closure, the business is open, offering sweet pastries to all customers.
“We closed the first week of April,” said Owner Chantheng Moeun. The decision was made shortly after the stay at home order was issued by the state. “We had to close due to COVID-19—some because of supply and some for the pandemic. We just decided to close up,” she shared.
It was a difficult decision; however, Moeun considered the options and decided it was the best route for the business.
Opening on May 1, the shop was greatly welcomed back into the community. “Today is the first day back. We decided it 2 weeks ago,” she explained, standing behind the new Plexiglas guard recently installed to protect customers and employees as the virus continues to be a threat. Just within the first day, the business received much traffic. “It has been busy today,” said Moeun. “They (customers) are all very happy. They are glad that we opened it back up,” she added.
Simply Doughnuts is a doughnut shop located at 100 Florida Street in East Brewton. Specializing in doughnuts, kolaches, and croissants, the shop provides a wide variety of pastries for all taste buds.
