Brewton City Council conducts meeting

The Brewton City Council met on Tuesday, May 26th 2020. Social distancing was observed. The following actions were approved during the meeting: selling of surplus real property 716 St. Nicholas Ave.; North Brewton Lagoon Environmental Report; Brewton Lagoon Environmental Report; a bid for Provalus Construction Agreement awarded to Hyland Bid; and Gordon Place Street lighting Agreement with Alabama Power.
In other new business, Samantha Bell was appointed to the Brewton Development Authority Board. “Dan Weaver retired from Southern Pine and he asked to retire from the board. I appoint Samantha Bell to take Dan Weaver’s term,” said Mayor Yank Lovelace.
Finally, Comfort Care Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Susan Rhodes addressed the board regarding an elderly appreciation parade. The council then approved the parade to take place at West Gate Village.
