Mrs. Delray Godwin Dewberry, age 95, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 in a Mobile, AL hospital.

Delray lived in the Pineview community all of her life.  She was a 1944 graduate of Flomaton High School.  She is known for her love for the Lord Jesus and His church.  She spent many hours working for her church, Pineview Pentecostal Holiness Church,  and was missed when she was unable to attend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Godwin; husband, LJ Dewberry; sisters, Geneva Kraemer, Porcia Leah Pettis, and Johnnie White.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Godwin; and sisters, Juanita Parker and Delores Chiquita Baggett.

When Juanita retired and moved back to  Pineview she and Delray became very close, and Juanita has been a great help to her.  Delray did not have any biological children but had many nieces and nephews who loved her.  She had two special nieces, who were very close to her, Sharon Lisenby and Susie Smith.  They took care of her and treated her like their own mother.  Wayne Lisenby and Buck Smith, their husbands, helped them.  Delray loved them and depended on them.

We will all miss her.  She is a special lady.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 2:30 P.M. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Bro. James Peacock officiating. Due to current health concerns, guests will be limited and masks are required.  Private Interment will be held at Pineview Cemetery.
