Brewton Middle School welcomed an assistant principal this past week. Approved at the board meeting held last Tuesday night, Tiffany Oliver was named the new assistant principal/reading coach for the school. At the board meeting, the board approved the resignation of BMS Assistant Principal Leah Fuqua and named Oliver for the open position.
“We are proud to recommend Tiffany Oliver,” said Superintendent Kenneth Varner.
“She has a background teaching in the middle school setting having taught both 7th and 8th grade. She’s a language arts teacher is her certification which lends itself well to the reading coach duties and she had a great interview,” he added.
Oliver is a graduate of W.S. Neal High School. She attended Troy University and received a bachelor’s degree in English Language Arts. She received her master’s degree in educational leadership from Mississippi College. Her teaching experience includes teaching seventh and eighth grade at Highland Home School, and most recently English at Escambia County High School. Excited for the upcoming year, Oliver said, “I am most looking forward to helping get our students back in the building as safely and as seemlessly as possible. Also, I look forward to meeting and supporting all of the students, parents, and teachers while continuing my educational journey. It’s a great day to be a BMS Tiger!”
