Commission chair announces resignation

Karean Reynolds July 31 announced his resignation as chairman of the Escambia County Commission.
Reynold’s resignation is effective on Aug. 9, 2020.
“I would like to thank my fellow commissioners for placing their trust in my ability to lead the commission,” Reynolds said on his Facebook page. “This resignation weighs heavy on my heart as serving the citizens of our county remain one of my main priorities. However, I am proud to announce that I will continue to serve this county and community as Escambia County District 5 commissioner.”
Reynolds thanked County Administrator Tony Sanks for his dedication to the job, making sure the county was taken care of.
“His relentless efforts significantly aided me in my job performance,” he said. “This resignation is the result of a future opportunity which will allow me to better serve our community.”
