Wayne’s Community Outreach & Community Youth 4 Christ will celebrate the 11th annual “Back2School Free School Supplies GiveAway” on Saturday, August 8. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 12 a.m. at the J.L. Fisher Center.
“Our children and youth are facing a new way of living and have many questions about a new school year with our nation in a Pandemic. During this COVID-19, it is our desire that our youth are adequately supplied with school supplies to start this new school year whether school on campus or virtual home school,” said founder of the event, Christy Ellis.
All health guidelines will be followed during the drive-thru event. “We will practice social distancing and wearing masks. School supplies will be distributed by way of drive-thru. The children and youth must be in a car,” said Ellis.
Looking forward to the event, Ellis hopes many will attend the event. She concluded, “We want to give our children and youth a great head start back to school!”
