Mr. Gerald Willard Franklin, 79, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 at his East Brewton residence.

Mr. Franklin was born in the Bradley community and was a lifelong resident of the Brewton/East Brewton area. He was a member of the W.S. Neal High School Class of 1958, and worked as a traffic supervisor for T.R. Miller Mill Company for 44 years. He loved his family and his church, Alco Pentecostal Holiness Church. He enjoyed sports, especially boxing and Alabama Football.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Grady Franklin and Lillie Arizona Elliott; a sister, Frances Dodgens; and brothers, Vernon G. Franklin, Dan Floyd Franklin, and Morris G. Franklin.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Faye Franklin of East Brewton; two sons, Jason Franklin of Montgomery and Marlin (Leslie) Franklin of Brewton; one brother, D.G. Franklin of Mobile; three grandchildren, Matthew (Samantha) Franklin, Tanner Franklin, Lily Franklin; one great-grandchild, Aubree Franklin.

Graveside funeral services were held at Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Byrnes Pitts officiating.

Visitation was held at Craver’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Craver’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
