Deacon Mannie Bradley was born on September 24, 1938 in Conecuh County (Johnsonville Community) Alabama to the late Green and Mary Lee Bradley. He departed his life on August 31, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Elisha Bradley and two sisters, Barbara N. Franklin and Nellie M. Verrett.

He was united in holy matrimony to Carolyn V. Bradley on May 21, 1961.

Mannie confessed Christ at an early age and joined Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he was a loyal, faithful and dedicated member. He served diligently in the deacon ministry and as church musician for many years, until his health deteriorated. He also served as the church treasurer and was a founding member of the Inspirational Spiritual Singers. Mannie served as musician for many churches in the surrounding areas. Mannie was the Worshipful Master of Johnsonville Masonic Lodge #953 and Worthy Patron of Johnsonville Order of Eastern Star #868 for many years.

Mannie was employed with T.R. Miller Lumber Mill for several years. Later he became an Insurance Agent for Booker T. Washington Insurance Company where he worked for many years.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 59 years, Carolyn V. Bradley; three children who loved him dearly, which includes one son, Tarrant (Tara) Bradley of McDonough, Ga., and two daughters, Zelda Puryear of Brewton and Yolinda (Sherman) Ellington of Anchorage, Ak.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mardell Davison of Mansfield, Oh., and Geneva McCorvey of Brewton; four brothers, Wilbert Bradley of Mansfield, Oh., Artemus Bradley of Sacramento, Cal., Robert (Dorothy) Bradley of Evergreen, and Herman Bradley of Brewton; five sisters-in-law, Jeanette Gray, Willia Jean Gray, Lillian Likely and Hazel Floyd; two brothers-in-law, Robert (Freddie) Gray and Joseph Verrett and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of the life of Deacon Mannie Bradley was held Monday, September 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in a graveside service at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Castleberry. Pastor Duran K. Odoms officiated and the eulogy was delivered by Bishop Herman Bradley.

Interment immediately followed at Sandy Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Professional care and final arrangements were entrusted to Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors of Evergreen and Brewton.
