Elsie Jane Dyess was born November 1, 1942 to Thomas Wiley Weaver and Olive Beatrice Lynch Weaver, and died Saturday, October 24, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Donnie Dyess; six siblings, Bessie Ruth, John Thomas, Mellisa, an infant sister, Mary Alice Sullivan, Flora B. Money; one granddaughter, Samantha Dyess; one step-grandson, Hunter Monk.

She is survived by four sons, David Dyess, Billy (Michelle) Dyess, Michael (Janice Hobbs) Dyess, Ronnie (Stephanie) Dyess; seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Major, Ensley, Rachael, Steven, Rebekah, Samuel Dyess; brother, Wiley Weaver; one sister, Mamie Lou Acreman; three step-grandchildren, Alex (Honey) Crutchfield, Stephanie (Travis) Godwin, Jessica (Michael) Rackard; two great-grandchildren, and nine step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Jane was a member of Holly Grove Church where she played the piano. She also was the Youth Choir Director and played the piano at Lenox Baptist Church for a number of years. She retired from Vanity Fair after working over 30 years in the accounts receivable department. She played the piano for a number of weddings and funerals when asked. She loved her family and friends, and was a caregiver for her mother and husband. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved singing hymns and going to the nursing home to sing for the residents.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Holly Grove Church with Sis. Barbara Green officiating. Interment followed in Holly Grove Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Holly Grove Church.

Pallbearer were Steven Dyess, Michael Rackard, Travis Godwin, Brandon Jones, Jamie Tyree, and Brandon Lowry.

Honorary pallbearers: were Samuel Dyess, Major Dyess, and Cameron Cooper.

Craver’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
