Mrs. Betty Louise Portwood Hammac, 86, of Taylor Street in East Brewton, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in a Jay, Fla., hospital after a brief illness.

She was a native of Brewton and a life-long resident of East Brewton. She was a member of the East Brewton Church of the Nazarene and a retired seamstress from Judy Bond. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her church family and Alabama football.

She is survived by a son, Wayne Hammac of East Brewton; a daughter, Vanessa (Vernon) Ingram of East Brewton; a sister, Ellen Godwin of East Brewton; five grandchildren, Chris (Caffey) Hammac, Dwain (Kristy) Ingram, Nikki Fore, Brittany Hammac and Courtney Hammac; ten great-grandchildren, Cody (Mychael) Hammac, Askley (Greg) Hammac, Chase Hammac, Jennifer Hammac, Sara Hammac, Brooks, Dylan Ingram, Aleigha Ingram, Logan Fore and Anna Fore; one great-great-grandchild, Kaylx Hammac.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmas and Bama Bradley Portwood; a son, Cecil Ray Hammac Jr.; brothers, Mason Portwood, Glen Portwood, James Portwood, Billy Ray Portwood; and a sister, Frankie Schultz.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at East Brewton Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. James Meadows and the Rev. Blake Mohoing officiating. Interment followed in Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton.

Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
