Mrs. Marjorie “Margie” Louise Smith James, 77, of Gantt Road in Brewton, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at her residence after a brief illness.

She was a native of Monroe County and a long-time resident of Brewton. She was a member of the Mexia Baptist Church, a graduate of Conecuh County High School and a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Junior (Jackie) Stokes of Atmore, Brian (Linda) Stokes of Mexia; one daughter, Sheila Marie (Randy) Henderson of Brewton; two brothers, James H. Smith of Brewton, and Grover W. Smith of Brewton; one sister, Mary (Ronnie) Clark of Pollard; 14 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Voncile James Smith; and a daughter, Mary Louise Phemister.

Graveside services were held Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne McMillan officiating. Interment followed.

Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
