Our precious brother, Donald Eugene Kirkland, was born on October 27, 1949 and entered into his Eternal Home on February 13, 2021.

He was a native of Brewton.  When asked about our precious brother fond memories of him loving trains as a young boy to his favorite color being blue and his profound love for music always shine through. You could always bring a smile to his face with I’ll Fly Away or his favorite White Lightning! And of course Elvis Presley and his visit to Graceland. His laughter was contagious and to know him was to love him.  He faced many trials on this earth but we know God had a plan right from his birth.  And although we are left here to grieve, we know that he is now happy and healed running on streets of gold. We know without a doubt he has now received his Robe and Crown.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Edna Kirkland; a brother, Morgan Ray Kirkland; a niece, Renee Webb; and a nephew, Glason Powell.

He is survived by six sisters, Lue McCall of Castleberry, Lena Webb of Richmond, Tex., Ellie Salter of Castleberry, Mary Roys of Odessa, Tex., Ruth (Ecker) Blasdel of Richmond, Tex., Faye Stamatelos of Jay, Fla.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and many other family members.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Pastor Travis Day officiating.  Interment followed in Oak Grove Holiness Church Cemetery.

Craver’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
