Mr. Joe David “J.D.” Smith, 84, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Mr. Smith faithfully attended Oak Grove Holiness Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also was the last of his 21 siblings and the youngest.

He is survived by his son, Bernie Payne of Kentucky; daughters, Michelle Docherty of Pensacola, Fla., Gennie Smith of Grand Rivers, Kent., and Serina Smith; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Holiness Church with the Rev. Jeff Harris officiating.

Serving as active pallbearers were Nicholas Bodin, Samuel McDaniel, and James Cumba.

Cope-Keahey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
