Fluffy, blueberry-filled pancakes will be the highlight of the show Saturday morning as the Brewton Kiwanis Club hosts their annual pancake breakfast.

Kiwanis member Danny Cottrell said the annual event is just one project the club does as a fund raiser for the group.

“This project helps us get funding for scholarships for local students to attend Coastal Alabama Community College,” Cottrell said. “It also is used as a fund raiser to help with the costs of our Operation Santa Claus each year.”

Contrell said those who want to enjoy the pancakes along with all the usual trimmings, can do so with ease Saturday morning.

“We will be cooking and serving at David’s Catfish House this year,” Cottrell said. “That means that people can either dine-in or simply go through the drive-through to pick up their breakfast.”

Cottrell said the pancakes would come with a side of Conecuh Sausage as well a drink choice of coffee, juice or milk.

Tickets can be purchased from any Kiwanis member or you may purchase on the morning of the event beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 per plate.

David’s Catfish House is located on The Trails just off Douglas Avenue north.

The Brewton Kiwanis was established in March 1966 and has continued to support the community of Brewton and the citizens through a variety of charitable activities and presentations.

The group is known for their work supporting college-bound students who attend local schools to the community. Each year scholarships are awarded deserving graduates of W.S. Neal High School, T.R. Miller High School and Flomaton High School to attend classes at Coastal Alabama Community College’s Brewton campus.
