Bonnie “June” Adams of East Brewton, Alabama, 90, was born December 8, 1930 to the late Euniva Carroll and George Hanon Brantley. She was a life long resident of East Brewton and passed away on November 15, 2021 surrounded by family at her home.

She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Aubrey Adams. She is also survived by her children Janice Adams Franklin of East Brewton, Dennis Darnell Adams (Mary Kathryn) of Brewton, and Aubrey David Adams of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren, Julie Franklin Stortz (Fallon) of Atmore, Jennifer Franklin Carden (Ricky) of Odenville, Charles Brantley Adams of Brewton, and Christopher Collins Adams of Brewton; great grandchildren, Casidee Rehanon Bush of Pensacola, Florida, Kylie Noelle Bush of Troy, Kathlynn Grayson Bush of East Brewton, Cameron Blake Carden of Odenville, Alivia Reece Carden of Odenville, and Brady Ryland Carden of Odenville; great great-grandchildren, Morrison Gray Covin of Troy and Lennox Rayne Bush of East Brewton; and sisters, Betty Brantley Jackson of Brewton and Kathleen Brantley Davis of East Brewton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Euniva and George Brantley of East Brewton; brothers, W.C. Brantley of East Brewton and Bobby Ray Brantley of East Brewton; and son-in-law, Grady Morris Franklin of East Brewton.

June Adams graduated from W.S. Neal High School in 1948. At an early age she became an integral part of her family’s farming operation on Jay Road along with her beloved brothers and sisters. Her first occupation outside of the home was at the T. R. Miller Mill Company’s Box Factory. After working there for several years, she then married the love of her life, Aubrey Adams, and began her career in the Art and Engraving Department at St. Regis Paper Company in Pensacola, Florida. She was very passionate about her job and loved the meticulous details that came with printing and engraving. She retired from there after working close to thirty years. Her retirement years bore her the nickname, “The Cake Lady”, as she joyfully made hundreds upon hundreds of cakes for individuals and businesses in the area. It gave her such pleasure to make cakes for others and to know that they would bring joy to those receiving them. She often hand delivered her delicious cakes and always took time to visit with her customers leaving one to wonder which was sweeter, “The Cake Lady” or her cakes.

An adoring and devoted wife, she lovingly supported her husband of almost 65 years through his own work, his long service on the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners, and the countless jobs that come with running a cattle operation and farm.

She was an adoring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother who loved cooking, baking, fishing, growing roses and spending time with her family.

She was a proud member of the East Brewton Assembly of God Church where she enjoyed cooking countless meals and organizing her beloved “Fifty Plus” group.

Visitation will be November 17, 2021 at 12 p.m. and Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. at the East Brewton Assembly of God Church with Jeff Scurlock officiating.

Pall bearers are Shawn Brantley, David Davis, George Davis, Keith Davis, Chris Hines, and Ed Jackson.

The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. William Whittle and the nurses who helped Mrs. Adams during her illness.
