The Brewton City Council paused to pay tribute to a pair of political friends during Monday’s regular meeting of the group.
Mayor Yank Lovelace read from a proclamation honoring Alabama State Senator Greg Albritton and State Representative Alan Baker.
“We are lucky here in Brewton to have a team that we can call on when our city needs help,” Lovelace said. “We can call either one and they work together to help us.”
Lovelace praised by Albritton and Baker for the work they have already done to improve life in Brewton for the citizens.
“We just want to thank them for all the work they have done for the city,” Lovelace said. “They are always ready and willing to offer their advice and offer assistance to help the city of Brewton. We just wanted them to be honored for their faithful service.”
A joint proclamation was presented to Albritton and Baker. Albritton was not in attendance at Monday’s meeting. Baker was on hand for the presentation and accepted for Albritton as well.
“Thank you for this recognition,” Baker said. “I appreciate the serve you provide to this city. Our services are needed at time for unanticipated budget needs. So many things come across our ears for some much needed items. It is a personal privilege to say how valuable Senator Albritton is in his work. He does a remarkable job.”
