Morris, Parker named to ECHCA leadership roles

Lamar Morris has been named the Controller for DWM. In this role, Morris will be responsible for leadership and coordination of financial planning, accounting, and budget management functions. He joins DWM from Regions Bank where he has been the branch manager in Bay Minette since 2019 and branch manager in Brewton from 2013 – 2019.
“ECHCA is excited to add Lamar to our financial team as our new Controller at DWM,” stated Jeff Booth, ECHCA CEO. “We feel Lamar’s experience in the financial world will bring much added value to the position. We are very fortunate to have someone with Lamar’s experience and credentials as part of our healthcare team.”
Morris started his career at Regions Bank in 2006 and held various positions of increasing responsibility. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Adminis-tration, Management and completed Banking School in 2017, both at the University of South Alabama. Morris and his wife, BreAnna live in Flomaton with their daughter Sadie. BreAnna is a teacher at Brewton Middle School.
Steve Parker has accepted the position of ECHCA Finance Director. The opening for Controller at DWM was a result of Parker’s promotion to this new position. This new finance team position was created to bolster both our finance and revenue cycle efforts across both Atmore Community Hospital (ACH) and DWM. Steve will be overseeing the Healthcare Authority finance and accounting duties along with leading efforts with reimbursement, Medicare cost reporting and Cerner to MS Dynamics data analytics.
“Steve has been a valuable asset as the Controller at DWM for many years.” stated Booth. “As Steve took on more and more responsibility across our health system, the need for adding this position became apparent.”
For the last ten years, Parker has served as Controller for DWM. Prior to DWM, Parker was an auditor for the State of Alabama. He graduated from Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala. with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Parker and his wife, Connie live in Brewton and have 3 sons, Tyler, Keaton and Baylen. The Escambia County Alabama Healthcare Authority Board is comprised of local county, city and community leaders appointed by the Escambia County, Alabama County Commission. Each member serves on the board as a volunteer and is responsible for governing all healthcare systems in Escambia County Alabama. These services include D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, Atmore Community Hospital, D.W. McMillan EMS, Atmore Community Home Care, ACH Med Plus, ACH Family Physicians, ACH Primary Care, ACH Complete Care, Atmore Therapy Services, D.W. McMillan Home Medical Equipment, D.W. McMillan Home Health, DW McMillan After Hours Clinic, the Flomaton Medical Center, and DW McMillan Medical Center.
