Students at W.S. Neal High School witnessed the annual Powder Puff football game last week seeing the senior team emerging as champions at the end of the night.
The win for the senior class marks the third year in a row the group has come out as champions.
In this year’s games, as is customary, the freshmen and sophomore classes met in a challenge. In that game, the sopomores were victorious taking the win over the freshmen 16 to 7.
In the second game, the seniors met the juniors on the field in an effort to keep the senior winning streak going. In that game, the seniors outscored the juniors 14-0. That win would put the seniors in a contest for the championship title against the sophomores.
In that championship game, the seniors shut down the sophomores and kept their title alive with a score of 7-0 to end the night.
This senior group, Class of 2023, have been winners throughout their years at W.S. Neal High School. Historically, this team has beat their opponents each time they took to the field.
In their freshman year, the team beat sophomores (c/o 2022) then lost the championship to the seniors (c/o 2020) in overtime;
Sophomore year: beat freshmen (c/o 2024) then beat the seniors (c/o 2021) for the championship;
Junior year: beat the sophomores (c/o 2024) then beat the freshmen (c/o 2025) for the championship;
Senior year: beat the juniors (c/o 2024) 14-0, then beat the sophomores (c/o 2025) 7-0 for the championship.
