Thanks to rains over the past weekend, two events are colliding with another to present a trio of fun in Brewton this Saturday.
Connie Baggett, director of programs for the City of Brewton, said the rain last Saturday forced two outdoor events to be pushed to this Saturday instead.
Winter Ramble, a guided-stroll through E.O. Wilson Adventures and Chalk the Town at Market Park will take place this Saturday.
A previously-planned event ‘Smores and Songs, will also be held Saturday for fun all day.
“Winter Ramble is a guided tour of the E.O. Wilson trails and historical features,” Baggett said. “Things like the old glass works and the CCC Camp ruins are on the tour. There are plants that bloom each season, so this walk will showcase winter plants.”
The Winter Ramble is planned for a 9 a.m. start and should conclude around noon.
Chalk the Town will be held at Market Park downtown at the Brewton mural with the art commencing at 2:30 p.m.
“Chalk the Town happens with local artists working with kids of all ages to create chalk art,” Baggett said. “We will even provide the chalk.”
Baggett working with chalk won’t be the last chance at fun this Saturday.
“As the evening falls, we’ll have s’mores by the fire pits at Dogwood Hills,” Baggett said. “We will have a few guitars as well for an unplugged sing-along. It’s a great place to watch the stars, too!”
The ‘Smores and Songs event is set to get under at 6 p.m.
All three of Saturday’s events are free and open to the public.
