Brewton teen dies in Wednesday night crash

A Brewton teen was killed in a Wednesday night crash in the Damascus community and one other teen were seriously injured.

According to the Alabama State Troopers, the crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Escambia County Road 69 approximately 15 miles east of East Brewton.

The 18-year-old, reportedly a student at T.R. Miller High School, was fatally injured when the 2004 Ford F-150 left the roadway and struck several trees. The deceased victim was a passenger in the vehicle being driving by a 17-year-old Brewton resident. Both teens, who were not using seat belts, were ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The 18-year-old was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the crash.
