John Braxton Rhodes was awarded the Tagged for Academic Excellence Scholarship at the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation Scholarship Banquet held Friday, May 5 in Wetumpka.
Rhodes is the son of Susan Rhodes of Brewton.
An alumnus of W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton, Rhodes currently attends Auburn University where he is pursuing a degree in Biological and Agricultural Technology Management.
He was one of 127 scholarship recipients awarded over $113,000 in scholarship by the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation (ACF).

It provides the opportunity to make tax deductible donations for the educational work of the foundation and is largely funded by the sale of the “Cowboy Tag” vanity license plate.
Throughout the year, the ACF supports numerous organizations and events which help to educate and train future generations of the livestock industry. The ACF has awarded scholarship money each year to Alabama youth with more than $1.2 million being awarded to date.
Rhodes is a 2022 graduate of W.S. Neal High School where he was active FFA program.
