Ormand Lendward ‘Buddy’ Lindsey
East Brewton
Mr. Ormand Lendward “Buddy” Lindsey, 78, of Schad Street in East Brewton, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was a native and life long resident of Brewton/East Brewton. Mr. Lindsey was a member of the First Open Bible Church and was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed camping and fishing.
She is survived by two sons, Shelby (Sandi) Lindsey and Lavon (Melanie) Lindsey, both of Brewton; four daughters, Sherry (Tim) Nichols, Therese (Willie B.) Downs, Kira (Jimmy Douglas) Lindsey and Naomi Lindsey, all of Brewton; one brother, Donnie (Gwinett) Lindsey of Brewton; six sisters, Catherine Murphy, Sharon Murphy, Ruth McVey, Brenda Gale Drawbaugh, Dale Hill, Jean Smith; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Naomi Worthington Lindsey; his wife, Patricia Ann ‘Pat’ Sims Lindsey; brothers, Austin Lindsey, and Wayne Lindsey; and a sister, Louise Ball.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Open Bible Church with the Rev. Jason Lindsey officiating. Interment followed in Rock Hill Cemetery in Brewton.
Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Raymond Erick Moore
Panama City, Fla.
Mr. Raymond Erick Moore, 62, passed away January 23, 2025.
He was born Sept. 27, 1962 to Barbara Stallworth-Moore and Raymond Stanford Moore.
He began his education at Parkway Kindergarten in Bronx, NY., and moved south attending Davidson High School in Mobile and completing his high school studies at W.S. Neal High School. After graduation, he enrolled at Alabama State University in Montgomery studying Communications and Art.
Making Montgomery his home, Erick worked many jobs with his last job as a police officer for the City of Montgomery. After 17 years of service, he retired with disabilities and moved to Panama City, Fla., in 2022 to live with his mother.
He is survived by his mother, Babara Stallworth-Moore; two uncles, Charles Stallworth of Mobile and Donnie Stallworth of Century, Fa.; two aunts, Connie Stallworth-Purifoy and Brenda Springs-Stallworth, both of Brewton; and a host of cousins and lots of friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Second St. Siloam Missionary Baptist Church in Brewton with Dr. Richard Benjamin officiating. Interment followed at New Baptist Hill Cemetery in Brewton.
Presley-Fluker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Calep Allen Crook
Brewton
Calep Allen Crook, 66, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2025.
He was born Sept. 21, 1958 in Brewton to Ersa Lee Brosby and Albert Crook.
Calep was educated in the Escambia County School system. After high school, he was employed with a number of businesses in the Brewton area. He was employed with Jett Logging prior to his retirment.
He is survived by sons, Calep (Sharon) Crook, Brandon Crook, Josh (Monica) Knight; brothers, Rex (Sylvia) Crook, David (Linda) Crook Sr., Charles Crook Sr., Lawrence Peterson and Frank Jones; sisters, Lillian Day, Brenda Thomas and Nan Mosby; grandchildren, MaKayla Crook, Trent Cooper, Devin Crook, Jamod Crook, Zakeea Knight, Tameka Kyles, Jakayla Knight, Kaylen Knight; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was prceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Mattie Crook; his parents, Ersa Crosby and Albert Crook; brothers, Tommy Crook, Raymond Peterson and Joe Peterson Sr.; two sisters, Mary Peterson and Rosie Randalls; and a grandmother, Beatrice Crosby.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at Staint Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Brewton with the Rev. Danny Benjamin officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Brewton.
