East Brewton Mayor Terry Clark took a few moments Monday to thank the businesses located in the town.
“We are so appreciative to the businesses we have in East Brewton,” Clark said. “Having those business invest in our city by having a location here means so much to our people.”
Clark said the two newest businesses — Scott’s Outdoors and Jack’s restaurant — have made an impact in the city’s revenues.
“We are happy to have them in our city and the revenue from those and all our businesses in East Brewton are making a difference,” Clark said.
In other business during Monday’s meeting of the Mayor and Council, the council agreed to move forward with receiving bids on the planned demolition of a structure on Forrest Avenue. The old cafe’ building, owned by Billy Harris, is considered dangerous and was approved for demolition by the council. After a 30-day waiting period, the demolition will move forward following a unanimous vote by members of the council.
