Officers and staff members of the Brewton branch of United Bank were officially welcomed to Brewton Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Joining in the celebration were members of the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce and members of Brewton City Council and Mayor.
The ceremony marked the official welcome to the Brewton’s business group by Chamber officials.
United Bank, with a home office in Atmore, has expanded their services to the Brewton area with the opening of the local branch in November 2016. The facility became a full-service bank in 2017.
As the service expanded and the customer base grew, officials were in need of additional space.
Ground breaking on a new facility was held in February 2024. With the construction seeing a few delays along the way, construction was completed in December 2024.
The new banking facility, located at 1515 Douglas Avenue, opened for regular business on Jan. 6, 2025.
The ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday was the culmination of a project for United Bank making the Brewton branch part of 20 locations in Alabama and Florida.
