Family and friends gathered last weekend to celebrate a significant milestone for a Brewton centenarian.
Edith Dozier celebrated her 103rd birthday surrounding by family and friends at her Brewton home.
Dozier is a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother blessed with a number of family members.
Dozier was celebrated by a group of well-wishers on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
Born in 1922, she has seen the world change in unimaginable ways. She has witnessed historical events and has raised three generations of family members.
Family members say her enduring spirit, wisdom and unwavering love for her family makes her a truly remarkable person.
Her daughter says her sense of humor is infectious and no matter the challenges life threw at her, she always found a reason to smile.
Dubbed a pillar of strength, Dozier has displayed her love of life and family — qualities that have been passed down through generations.
During the celebration, Dozier was showered with love through cards, gifts and messages. Family members shared stores and memories of the matriarch reflecting on the impact she has had on their lives through the years.
The special day of celebration was filled with laughter, heart felt sentiment and, of course, birthday cake.
As the honoree blew out the candles on her birthday cake, surrounded by three generations of her family, she said “I am so blessed”.
