Lisa Elizabeth Johnson McGraw

Mrs. Lisa Elizabeth Johnson McGraw, 52, of Travis Street in East Brewton, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a brief illness.
She was a native and life long resident of the Brewton/East Brewton, Alabama area. Mrs. McGraw was of the Christian faith, a 1991 graduate of W.S. Neal High School, a homemaker and caregiver. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandson.
She is survived by her mother, Peggy Johnson of East Brewton; two sons, Gary McGraw and Blake McGraw, both of East Brewton; a daughter, Taylor McGraw of East Brewton; a brother, Billy (Chrystal) Johnson of Brewton; one grandchild, Reed McGraw; the father of her children, Gary McGraw Sr.; a number nieces and nephews; and best friend, Christie (Terry) Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Huey Johnson; and a sister, Charlotte Johnson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.
Funeral services are planned for Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Drake Dorsett officiating. Interment will follow in Damascus Cemetery.

Raymond A. Williams
Brewton
Raymond A. Williams, 80, of Brewton, passed away March 20, 2025 at his home. Formally of Pensacola, Fla., Raymond was a retired firefighter from Pensacola Naval Air station as well as Retired from the US Coastguard.
Raymond was such a special man who loved his family and church. Ray was an active member of First Baptist Church of East Brewton. Ray was a member of the men’s Sunday school class as well as the church choir. Ray took great pride in singing in the choir. He greatly enjoyed music and listening to his wife play the piano.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Helen Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Maurice Williams; two daughters, Stephanie (Russell) Scott, Daphne (John) Kleiner of Brewton; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Lee) Knowles, Jacob (Kelsey) Scott of Brewton, Zachery Gardner of Fort Smith, Ark., Justin (Catherine) Gardner of New Orleans, La., nine great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Doreen) Williams of Georgia, Evan (Ingrid) Williams of Virginia; a sister, Denise (Kevin) Langhan of Pensacola, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in East Brewton with the Rev. Macon Phillips officiating. Interment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at Pensacola Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla., with immediate family only.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Scott, Zachery Gardner, Justin Gardner, Neil Gardner, Evan Williams and Bill Herrington. Honorary pall bearers are Thomas Scott and Gage Scott.

Danny Hugh Smith Jr.

Mr. Danny Hugh Smith, Jr., 69, of Foshee Road in Brewton, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025 in a Waco, Tex., hospital after a brief illness.
He was a native of Tampa, Fla., graduated high school in Turbeville, S.C., a former resident of South Carolina before moving to Alabama. Mr. Smith was a US Navy Veteran, a retired Boiler Tech and Navy recruiter for this area, and was a millwright when he got sick. He loved his family and country. He also enjoyed showing off his cooking skills and he was an avid Florida Gators/Atlanta Braves fan.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Graves Smith; two sons, Daniel (Jennifer) Smith and Michael (Carolyn) Smith; a daughter, Anne Forte; three brothers, Barry Smith, Timothy Smith and Herbert Smith; three sisters, Adell Barfield, Dyann Morris and Janice Hinds; four grandchildren, Harlee, Josie, Madelyn, and Lia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Danny H. Smith; his mother, Mae Timmons Smith; and a brother, Larry Smith.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.

Chris Laurice Pavey

Mr. Chris Laurice Pavey, 62, of Brewton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 12, 2025 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., surrounded by his family.
He was born August 16, 1962 in Richmond, Va., to Carol Jaqueline Pavey and the late John James Pavey, Sr. Mr. Pavey was the owner of Grace Recovery Services. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed greatly. He was a firm believer in Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his mumma, Carol Pavey; his wife of 20 years, Celeste Pave; six children, Jason (Trisha) Pavey, Jonathan Pavey, Krisanna (George) Watts, Ian (Brittany) Wolf, Stephen (Laura) Pavey, Clara (Jordan) Watkins; 11 grandchildren, Dylan, Haydan, Madison, Serenity, Jackson, Mackenzie, Christian, Zion, Ariah, Emmett, Tillie; brothers and sisters, Robin McClung, Kim Lee, Jay Pavey, Shawn Pavey, and Paul Pavey.

Kimberly Ann Chavers Wright
Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
Ms. Kimberly Ann Chavers Wright, 56, formerly of Brewton, passed away on March 17, 2025 in her home in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., after a brief battle with cancer.
Kim was a 1987 graduate of T.R. Miller High School and a 1991 graduate of Auburn University. She was a member of Cinco Bayou Baptist Church. She worked as an Accounting Clerk for Destin Water Users and worked part time at De’France Antiques.
Kim was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Carrie Chavers.
She is survived by her parents, Sonny and Bobbie Chavers of Brewton; a daughter, Mallory Wright of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Kelli (David) Hardison of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a brother, Jason (Jill) Chavers of Ocala, Fla.; a nephew Christian Barrett of Raleigh, N.C.; a niece, Hannah (Tyler) Wiseman of Aiken, N.C.; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service was held Friday, March 21, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Catawba Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Cinco Bayou Baptist Church in Ft. Walton Beach with the Rev. Justin Gambrell officiating.
Pallbearers for Kim were Christian Barrett, Mark Hoard, Chuck Rathke, Darrel Shatterly, Kevin Mosley, Brian Carden, Greg Carden, and David Eiland.

Mr. Weldon Brice Tabers, Jr., 74, of Murder Creek Road in Brewton, passed away Tuesday March 18, 2025 in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a brief illness.
He was a native of Texas, a former resident of Mississippi and a long time resident of Brewton. Mr. Tabers was of the Baptist faith, a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a retired welder from the oil field construction industry. He enjoyed gardening, cooking especially cat head biscuits, and was an avid Alabama fan.
He is survived by two sons, Weldon Brice (Nina Spinks) Tabers III of Castleberry and Tristan (Chelsey Southwell) Tabers of Brewton; two daughters, Stephanie Tabers (Todd) Driver of Cullman and Melissa Tabers (Jacob) Coon of Century, Fla.; a sister, Peggy Jo Coleman of Byrneville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Houston Smith, Jacob Odom, Aden Tabers, Bryson Tabers, and Ben Tabers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon Brice Sr. and Lila Glee Baker Tabers; his wife, Debra Tabers; and a sister, Linda McCall.
Funeal serves were held Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitch Herring officiating. Interment followed in Ridge Road Cemetery in Brewton.

Myrtice Annette Knowles Carnley

Mrs. Myrtice Annette Knowles Carnley, 80, of Shadow Hill Drive in Brewton, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at her residence after a brief illness.
She was a native of Foley, and a long time resident of Escambia County. Mrs. Carnley was a life long member of many churchs, a former seamstress at Judy Bond and Vanity Fair, and was a former school bus drive for the Escambia County School System. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and she was a prayer warrior.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Erwin Carnley, Jr. of Brewton; two daughters, Gloria (Eric) Jerkins of Deatsville and Melanie Carnley of Tallassee; a brother, Billy Joe (Faye) Knowles of Flomaton; five grandchildren, Wendy (Jason) Covan, Tracy (Chris) McCurdy, Cierra (JD) Prince, Dusty Carnley, Ayden Jerkins; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Eloise White Knowles; a son, Wendell Carnley; and two sisters, Millie Emmons and Melva Lou Howell.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Shady Grove Holiness Church with Bro. Andy Boutwell officiating. Interment followed in Beulah Cemetery in Brewton.

Mary Janet Baker

Mary Janet Baker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on July 1, 1961, in Evergreen, Mary Janet lived a life defined by unwavering love and selfless devotion to her family, friends and community. A longtime resident of Castleberry, she spent many years working in office administration for Brewton Medical Center and you’d find her at the voting polls every election season. But it was her home life that held the most meaning.
Mary Janet was the cherished daughter of the late Charlene Beasley Sasser and Jones Branton Sasser.
Mary Janet’s greatest joy was her family. She was married to Billy “Bill” Baker for 41 years and they had three beloved sons. She was outnumbered at home until she welcomed two bonus daughters. She cherished every moment spent with them, offering constant support and unconditional love.
Mary Janet is survived by her husband, Billy “Bill” Baker; three sons, Josh (Crystal) Baker, Jacob (Nicole) Baker, and Jared Baker; three grandsons, Cole Baker, Carson Baker, and Grayson Baker; sisters, Maureen S. Bush and Sherry S. Johnston; best friend, Mary Carmichael of Brewton; her fur baby Fergus and a host of adoring family and friends.
A memorial service was held Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home in Brewton. Mary Janet was laid to rest in the London Baptist Church Cemetery.

Teresa Trawick Brown

Mrs. Teresa Trawick Brown of Brewton, passed away peacefully at her home on March 18, 2025, following an extended illness.
Born on August 19, 1951, in Bainbridge, Ga., Teresa married the love of her life, Eddie Robert Brown, on September 13, 1970, at East Albany Baptist Church in Albany, Ga. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Brewton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nelson Wayne Trawick.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ed Brown of Brewton; her mother, Frances Trawick of Brewton; two daughters Frances Michelle Brown (Jason) Walker of Brewton and Alisa Brown (Ricky) Thomas of Brewton; two sisters, Cyndy Smith of Albany, Ga., and Judy (Jerry) Eddy of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and four beloved grandchildren, Teresa “Tess” Catherine Thomas, Richard Brown Thomas, Isabella “Belle” Leigh Waler, and Edison “Edie” Mae Walker.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 5 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Brewton with the Rev. Chris Patterson officiating. Interment followed in Union Cemetery in Brewton.

Charles Woodrow Coleman Sr.

Mr. Charles Woodrow Coleman Sr., 76, of Bridlebrook Blvd. in Pike Road, passed away Friday evening, March 14, 2025, in a Birmingham Hospital.
Mr. Coleman was a native of Frisco City, Alabama and a former resident of Brewton before moving to Pike Road 18 years ago. He owned and operated Coleman’s Auto Sales for many years and was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Wynette Odom Coleman of Pike Road; son, Charles Woodrow “Chuck” (Celeste) Coleman, Jr. of Montgomery; brother, Wayne (Lillie) Coleman of Brewton; and grandson, David Logan Coleman of Birmingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Zelma Coleman.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Woodrow Coleman, Sr. were held Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 12:30 P.M. from the Chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Melton and Bethany Winkler officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Home Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary J. Enfinger, 48, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025, at a Montgomery hospital.
Mrs. Enfinger was born in Portsmouth, Va., and has lived in the Brewton area for the past four years. She was an LPN at Century Center for Rehabilitation and Healing. She loved her family and always put them first.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Watson.
She is survived by three sons, Austin Enfinger of Pace, Fla., Travis Enfinger of Brewton and Pate’n Miller of Brewton.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary J. Enfinger were held on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Miller officiating. Interment followed at Spears Cemetery.

Jimmy Benjamin Jackson

Mr. Jimmy Benjamin Jackson, 59, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025, at his residence.
He was born in Milton, Fla., and had been a lifelong resident of Escambia County. He liked fast cars, hunting deer and fishing. Mr. Jackson liked country and southern rock music. He enjoyed riding 4 wheelers and playing outside with his grandchildren and children. Mr. Jimmy loved to sit on his front porch and just watch the world go by.
He was preceded by his father, Jay Bee Jackson and a daughter, Tosha Nicole Jackson.
He is survived by his mother, Judy Jackson of Brewton; two daughters Samantha Quincie (Ricky) Gilbert of Pace, Fla., and Shauna Jackson of Castleberry; Quincie and Shauna’s mother, Lisa McCurdy; one brother, James (Leanna Cain) Jackson of Brewton; two nephews, Bentley Jackson and Gabriel Kennedy; one niece, Kayla Jackson; four grandchildren, Makenna Coleman, Justin Coleman, Raelynn Gilbert and Bennett Gilbert.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Floyd officiating. Interment followed at Zion Hill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Ben Murphy, Paul Gilbert, Ricky Gilbert, Jansen Rabon, Kristen Booker, Blake Griffin. Honorary Pallbearers were Steve McCurdy, Ricky Williams, Ty McFerrin, Ricky Allison and Ryan Bartlett.
