With Easter less than two weeks away, the City of Brewton, Brewton Reborn and the City’s Entertainment and Events Committee are putting together a fun filled day to herald the holiday.
On Saturday, Dogwood Hills Park will be filled with thousands of eggs waiting to be found by children and adults.
Connie Baggett, Director of Program Management for the City of Brewton, said each age category will have their own hunting area.
“Children’s groups will be divided by grade level with prize eggs in each area,” Baggett said. “The event has grown over the years to include hundreds of participants of all ages.”
The event, set to get underway at 10 a.m. and will feature thousands of eggs just waiting to be found, Baggett said.
“This year will mark another search for more than 2,000 eggs and more than $1,000 in prizes,” Baggett said. “Big thanks to community sponsors like Bank of Brewton, Walmart and the Brewton Fire Department for making the day possible.”
Baggett said a special guest will be on hand for photo opportunities for those who attend the event that will have a special grand prize egg.
“The Easter Bunny will be there for photos as the fun gets underway,” Baggett said. “Somewhere in the park, the grand prize egg will bring someone a $500 gift card. Free hotdogs and hamburgers will be served at 11 a.m.”
The hunt will offer prizes in several categories with baskets for children and adults.
Dogwood Hills Park is located on North Douglas Avenue in Brewton.
