Commitment to public service takes compassion and determination.
David Adams was honored for that service as he enters into the world of retirement as Escambia County’s Emergency Management Agency director and volunteer firefighter.
Adams was honored with the presentation of a plaque commemorating his 19 years of service as EMA director.
Presenting the plaque were members of the Escambia County Volunteer Fire Association departments.
Adams retired from his position as EMA director last Friday.
Adams has also served as a volunteer member of the Century Volunteer Fire Department where he has held assistant chief and chief during his 47 years with the department.
Adams was also an employee with the City of Flomaton serving as the utilities superintendent there before leaving to take on the County’s EMA role in 2006. Adams will be remembered for his leadership through many county disasters.
