Stephanie Myrick received one last proclamation Monday from the Escambia County Commission, as she plans her exit from her current role.
Myrick, Executive Director and Forensic Interview Specialist for the Escambia County Regional Child Advocacy Center, leaves the job still committed to the safety and well-being of children across the state.
Myrick has been with the CAC for 21 years, and will begin her new role with the Alabama Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers as the Statewide Grants and Compliance Coordinator.
“I will certainly miss being here at the center and working with folks locally,” Myrick said. “But, I’m also glad that I still get to be involved in the CAC world and to get to be a part of making sure best practices are being implemented and followed among centers and those direct service providers.”
Myrick will begin her new role April 21.
Although several candidates are in the running for the position Myrick is vacating, now new director has been named.
Myrick was instrumental in having the Regional Child Advocacy Center named as the Kathy Hill Child Advocacy Center in 2008 after the death of the long-time child advocate who founded the CAC in 2002.
The Escambia County Regional Child Advocacy Center was recognized with a proclamation naming April Child Abuse Prevention Awareness month in Escambia County.
