Hershal Wayne Baldwin
Brewton

Mr. Hershal Wayne Baldwin, 79, of McGougin Road in Brewton, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a brief illness.
He was a native of Andalusia and a long time resident of Brewton. Mr. Baldwin was of the Baptist faith, a 1964 graduate of W.S. Neal High School, a USAF Veteran, and was a retired loan officer from a mortgage company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family, and he was an avid Alabama fan.
He is survived by one son, Steve (Sylvia) Baldwin of Brewton; two grandchildren, Daniel Contraevas and Nicole McNuety; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Arnold and Lillie Skipper Baldwin.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery in Brewton.

Joseph ‘Tookie’  Marshall Smith
Brewton

Mr. Joseph “Tookie” Marshall Smith, 78, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, in a local nursing facility.
Mr. Smtih was born in Brewton, and has been a long-time resident of Escambia County. He was of the Christian faith and a member of Divine Temple. He drove an eighteen-wheeler all his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Earline Smith; five brothers, Luverne Smith, JR Smith, Austin Smith, Elbert Smith, Lendon Smith; one sister, Maxine Smith; and one daughter, Melissa Pearson.
Mr. Joseph Smith is survived by two sons, William Smith of Brewton and Mark Smith; one daughter, Amanda Smith Shaffer; one brother, Liston “Joe” Smith of Mississippi; two sisters, Marlene Smith of Andalusia and Patricia Ann Coleman of Mississippi; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at the Craver’s Funeral Home chapel.
Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Smith will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Lambeth officiating. Interment will be at Weaver Cemetery.

Wiley Collins Cardwell
Brewton

Wiley Collins Cardwell of Brewton, Ala. passed away on April 4, 2025 at the age of 93.
He was a veteran serving the United States Army. He was a retired auto mechanic after many years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, A. D. and Dora Malone Cardwell; two brothers, A.D. “Buddy” Cardwell and Elton Cardwell; two sisters, Helen Macks and Mary Dixon.
He is survived by one son, Wiley “Joey” Cardwell (Gina) of Theodore; three daughters, Pamela J. Costantini of Gretna, La., Mary C. Farmer of Covington, La., and Cheryl C. Zeringue of Willis, Tex.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Johnny Cardwell (Barbara) of Brewton.
A memorial service was held at Jubilee Full Gospel Church in Brewton on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Reo Pugh officiating.

Evelyn Joyce McGregor
Brewton

Ms. Evelyn Joyce McGregor, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at a local nursing facility.
Ms. McGregor was born in Texas. She has lived in Brewton for the past seven years coming from Huntsville. She is of the Mormon faith.
Ms. McGregor enjoyed coloring, crocheting, sewing, and needle work. She loved to go fishing. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden.
Ms. Evelyn McGregor is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Erna McGregor.
Ms. Evelyn McGregor is survived by one son, Patrick (Angela) Mills of Mississippi; three daughters, Suzanne Mills of Brewton, Sharil (Jonathan) Smith of Arley, and Treeca Gunn of Huntsville; two sisters, June Thompson and Jeannie McGregor; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.

Jamison Ingram
Brewton

Mr. Jamison Ingram, 45, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at a local hospital.
Mr. Ingram was born in Shreveport, La. He has lived here for five years coming from Louisianna. He attended Brewton First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Wanda Barnes Ingram of Castleberry; his wife, Alexandra Douglass of Brewton; one son, Damien Douglass of Brewton; two daughters, MacKenzie Ingram of Brewton and River Ingram of Brewton; and one grandchild, Marlyn Blue.
Graveside services for Mr. Jamison Ingram were held Friday, April 11, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at Cooper Cemetery in Brewton with Bro. Cavin Cawthon officiating.
