Jackie Pritchett Parr
Brewton
Mrs. Jackie Pritchett Parr, 86, of Brewton, passed away Friday morning, May 9, 2025 at a Pensacola, Fla., health care facility.
Mrs. Parr was a native of Repton, and a former resident of Arizona before moving to Brewton 63 years ago. She was a retired department manager with Wal-Mart in Brewton, with 20 years of service. She had also previously worked as a lunchroom manager with North Brewton Junior High.
Mrs. Parr was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. She loved to garden, grow flowers, cook, sew and enjoying time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren which brought her great joy.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ray Parr of Brewton; a son, Michael (Faye) Parr of Brewton; a daughter, Debby Parr Sowell of Brewton; sisters, Faye Blankenship of Brewton, Dott Simmons of Oregon, Lynda Smith of Sevierville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Tiffany Reeves, Brandon Chancery, Ryan Parr, Brandy Baggett and Brett Chancery; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Edward and Essie Quimby Pritchett; twin brother and sister, Frank and Frances Pritchett; brothers, Dennis Pritchett, William Pritchett, and Badie Pritchett.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Jackie Pritchett Parr will be held at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. with Brother Jim Blair and Brother Brett Chancery officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tiffany Reeves, Brandy Baggett, Tatum Reeves, Jada Baggett, Taylor Reeves, and Holli Anne Baggett.

Anita Lou Thompson Nichols
Flomaton
Mrs. Anita Lou Thompson Nichols, 66, of Flomaton, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025 in a Gulf Breeze, Fla., medical facility after a brief illness.
She was a native and long time resident of Brewton, before moving to Flomaton. Mrs. Nichols was a homemaker.
She is survived by her best friend, William Stanley; her son, Sam Nichols; two brothers and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Levernon and Myrtie Lou Nolan Thompson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery in Brewton.

Grace Marie ‘Sally’ Johnson Rackard
Brewton
Mrs. Grace Marie “Sally” Johnson Rackard, 76, of Dixon Nursery Road in Brewton, passed away Friday evening, May 9, 2025 at her residence.
Mrs. Rackard was a native and life long resident of Brewton and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed growing flowers, cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Daniel ‘Junior’ (Becki) Nelson of Brewton; brothers, Wayne Johnson of Appleton and David Johnson of Appleton; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a niece caretarker, Teresa Odom of Brewton; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert Leigh and Melva Lee Blair Johnson; her husband of 45 years, Curtis U. Rackard; her brothers, Billy Seth Johnson, Terry ‘Buddy’ Johnson, Roy Johnson; and a sister, Mary Alice Kent.
No formal serves will be held at this time.

Cyril Enis Hammac Jr.
Brewton
Mr. Cyril Enis Hammac, Jr., 83, of Hwy. 41 in Brewton, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was a native and life long resident of Brewton. Mr. Hammac was a member of the Beulah Holiness Church, a graduate of W.S. Neal High School, and a retired crew foreman from Kimberly Clark Woodlands Division with 21 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ethel Clark Hammac of Brewton; one son, Eddie (Angelia) Hammac of Brewton; one daughter, Shirley Hammac of Brewton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Agnes Pettis Hammac; a daughter, Stephanie Hammac Massey; and two sisters, Bernice Goolsby and Bobby Evans.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Hammac and Speaker Randall Cain officiating. Interment followed in Hanberry Cemetery in Brewton.

Jacqueline Denise Rankin-Jackson
Brewton
Jacqueline Denise Rankin-Jackson, 60, affectionately known as “Jackee,” passed away April 26, 2025.
Jackee was born August 9, 1964 to Dorothy Earl Rankin-Johnson and Eugene “Bubba” Moore. From her mother, she learned the virtues of hard work and kindness – qualities that shaped her compassionate spirit and will serve as her enduring legacy.
Originally from Brewton, Jacqueline later moved to Pittsburgh, Penn. She attended Brewton City Schools before graduating from Wilkinburg High School. Her employment journey began at the Brewton Country Club where she dedicated many years of service and later became a manager at Dairy Queen before retiring.
A devoted mother, Jacqueline was blessed with her children, LaCheston Tyron Moore, Shelley Jean Jackson and Iran Maurice Mosley. Her love extended to her grandchildren, De’Aviance JaKyla Golden, Keadra Najee Wade, Unjah Joshia Wade, Iran Maurice Mosley Jr., Kyrie Demar Mosley, Kyleigh Parker Ragland, Tykeria Merrills, Jalen Powell, Kevin Porter Jr and Godson Fredrick O’Neal Allen II.
Accepting Christ at an early age, she was a faithful member of Greater Nazarene Baptist Church until her Heavenly Father called her home.
She was married to Willie Bernard Jackson for 17 years until his passing 22 years ago. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Earl Rankin-Johnson and Eugene ‘Bubba’ Moore, a beloved sister, Deborah Ann Johnson-Dirden; and god-son, Rickem Samuel.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and members with her children, her stepdaughter Melody Powell-Porter (Kevin) and her grandchildren. She is survived by three brothers, Ronald Ray Rankin of Oklahoma, Shelly Rankin of Virginia, and Robert Lee Johnson of Birmingham; four sisters, Alene Lewis (Roger), Gussie Ruth Allen of Brewton, Patricia Ann Johnson of Brewton and Doris Alene Johnson of Birmingham; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and cherished classmates.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Greater Nazarene Baptist Church in Evergreen with Pastor John O. Meeks officiating. Interment followed at Bergen Memorial Cemetery in Brewton.

Clifton Dell Watson Sr.
Brewton
Clifton Dell Watson Sr., died on Saturday, May 3, 2025 in Brewton following a battle with cancer.
He was a quiet and private man, enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life often shared with brothers and sisters. Among these were raising game chickens and finding solace and inspiration in country music. He deeply cherished the time he spent with his children and family. Many treasured memories involve gatherings at his parents house filled with the sound of guitars and the voices of his brothers and sisters raised in song. Known for his selfless nature, Cliff would readily help anyone in need — a testament to his caring and generous nature. He was a constant presence in his children’s lives — always there when they needed him.
For 45 years, Cliff dedicated himself to his work at T.R. Miller Mill Company.
He is survived by his loving family, Margie Watson, Vickey Pittman, Tonya Watson Graves and Clifton Watson Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Pine Level Church in Jay, Fla., on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the countless memories will ensure he will never be forgotten.
