The Alabama Blueberry Festival happens only once a year and it’s just a few short weeks away.
The June 21 event brings with it another once-a-year favorite — blueberry ice cream.
The Greater Brewton Area chamber of Commerce, event hosts, are now taking pre-orders for the local favorite.
For those who want to make sure to get their annual ice cream fix, the deadline to pre-order is at hand.
To order go to www.brewtonchamber.com/store. The cost to order online will be $11 for 1/2 gallon (the extra dollar is fees charged by paypal). Fill out the information with your name, etc. The ice cream will be available for pick up on Friday, June 20 from 4 to 7 pm at Jennings Park or at the festival on Saturday the 21 until 12:00 noon. Ice cream not picked up by noon on festival day will be resold (no refunds).
To avoid the fee charged by PayPal payments by cash or check can be made at the Chamber office at 1010-B Douglas Avenue (City Hall). Cash price is $10 per 1/2 gallon. Deadline for placing orders is June 1.
