Blueberries are ripening on the bush and a team of workers and planners are making final preparations for the annual Alabama Blueberry Festival on Saturday, June 21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the event each June and begins planning almost as soon as the festival ends.
Judy Crane, executive director for the Chamber, said area vendors and participants for the 2025 festival need to keep a few deadlines in mind for the event.
“We do have some vendor spaces remaining, but none with electricity,” Crane said. “Those interested in a space should contact the Chamber office to reserve a space before they area gone.”
The deadline for ordering the annual bucket of blueberry ice cream has been extended until Friday, June 6, Crane said.
“We will also be taking pre-order for this year’s t-shirt as well,” Crane said. “Pre-orders for t-shirts and ice cream must be placed a paid for by the end of business on Friday, June 6.”
Crane said festival organizers are still working on entertainment for the day. Anyone interested in performing on the Blueberry Festival stage, should contact the Chamber as soon as possible. Once the line up is completed, no other performers can join the list.
Crane said a special thanks goes out to Georgia-Pacific for sponsoring the Kids Area allowing a fun time for children at no cost. Other sponsorship opportunities are available until festival week. The festival will be held at Jennings Park near downtown Brewton.
