Two rounds of rain and thunderstorms will occur across Alabama today (Monday).  The first is a large cluster of storms moving across the central sections of the state through this evening.  Very heavy rainfall with localized flooding and a couple of damaging wind gusts are possible.

From this afternoon through this evening, clusters of storms are forecast to develop statewide, moving from west to east.  Some areas may not receive any rainfall at all.  However, where the stronger storms develop, very heavy rainfall with localized flooding, damaging wind gusts, hail and possibly a couple of tornadoes are all possible.

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the southern half of Alabama Tuesday and Wednesday and statewide Thursday through next weekend.  Once again, a few storms each afternoon and evening could produce wind gusts from 40-60 mph and localized very heavy rainfall, but widespread severe weather is not expected.
