Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United (Coke United) hosted a special appreciation dinner this week at Reid State Technical College. Members of the Reid State cabinet joined their leadership team in celebrating the growing partnership between the two organizations.
Held on the college’s campus, the evening highlighted Coke United’s commitment to supporting education, workforce development and community engagement.
“We know it’s been a long day in Montgomery, but I’m sure it was a good one — and Matthew Carlo and the Coke United team took great care of everyone,” shared Zach Tebbetts, Montgomery Sales Center Manager, “Just as there’s a great team there, there’s a great one here at Reid State, and I’m grateful to now be a part of it.”
Guests were treated to a warm welcome and a delicious meal, catered by a local culinary partner, as Coke United expressed gratitude for the strong collaboration with Reid State.
Dr. Coretta Boykin, president of Reid State Technical College, delivered heartfelt remarks during the event, including a personal testimony about the impact of the college on her own family.
“My mother enrolled in our cosmetology program here at Reid after her job in manufacturing ended. Watching her fall in love with learning and seeing her open her own business changed my life” she said. “She inspired me to pursue my education and eventually earn my doctorate.”
The evening reflected on the transformative mission of Reid State and the power of corporate partnerships in helping students succeed. Coke United’s support has contributed to campus improvements and expanded resources, positively impacting student experiences.
“With Coke United’s partnership, our students feel supported and valued,” said Boykin. “You see their presence across our campus. It means something. It tells our students they matter.”
Reid State continues to see steady growth, with a nearly 3 percent increase in enrollment each semester. Coke United’s continued engagement is helping the college expand its reach and services across the region.
Dr. Boykin concluded, “At Reid State, we’re not just educating students, we’re transforming lives and changing generations. We thank Coke United for being part of that story.”
