Willian Gary Dawkins – Brewton
Mr. Mr. William Gary Dawkins, 83, of Dawkins Road in Brewton, passed away Saturday morning, May 31, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Dawkins was a native and lifelong resident of Brewton. He was a retired lab technician with Smurfit Stone Container with 43 years of service. He was a member of May Creek Community Church. He loved hunting, fishing, being with his family, Alabama football and basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Juanita Beasley Dawkins of Brewton; a son, Greg (Rhonda) Dawkins of Brewton; two daughters, Weena (Miles) Ball of Wing and Teresa (Kenny) Hultz of East Brewton; seven grandchildren, Misty, Meg, Brenna, Ashley, Cate, Logan and Madison; and greatgrandchildren, Aly, Noah, Landry, Bella, Drake, Eli, Ben and Hattie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Myrtice Adams Dawkins; brothers, Rupert, Randol, Rothel and Donald; sisters, Jeanette Crawford, Sue Janes, Elizabeth Hacker and Margaret Burnham.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, June 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home in Brewton with Brother Dan Hellums officiating and Teresa Hultz speaking. Interment followed in May Creek Cemetery in Brewton.
Pallbearers were Chris Ford, Nate Sheffield, Ricky Janes, Logan Dawkins, Colby Langham, and Richie Beasley.
Craver’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ernest Donald Arrant
September 30, 1941 to May 28, 2025
Mr. Ernest “Don” Donald Arrant, age 83, passed away on May 28, 2025 in Pensacola, Florida.
He grew up in Pollard, Alabama and was a longtime resident of Brewton, Alabama. He was retired from Container Corporation of America with 43 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with dogs.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Saralene Knox Arrant; his parents, Ernest and Edith Arrant; and a brother, Kenneth Arrant.
He is survived by two sons, James Arrant and Rodney Arrant; one daughter, Stephanie (Robbie) Warren, all of Brewton, Alabama; a brother, Harold (Betty) Arrant of Pace, Florida; a sister, Linda (Jim) Burkett of Flomaton, Alabama; two grandchildren, Stephen (Hannah) Warren of Spanish Fort, Alabama and Brittany (Tyler) Boatwright of Brewton, Alabama; and four great-grandchildren, Amelia and Riley Warren and Rhett and Sawyer Boatwright.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 in the fellowship hall at Brewton Church of Christ, 601 Douglas Avenue, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a meal for those who would like to attend.
